Magnum Opus is a drama that pits Desert Storm vet turned artist, Daniel Cliff, against US intelligence. When he releases a series of paintings inspired by Dante’s Inferno, a counter-intelligence director shows up to confront Daniel, and secrets from their past thrust all involved into a hellish journey of spies, betrayal, and government retribution. This is a 21st century spy thriller involving highly charged political and national security issues, centering on the struggle between liberty and patriotism and privacy and security. Allusions to Edward Snowden and the suggestion of WikiLeaks style activism give realistic, “ripped from the headlines” credence to the premise.
